OUR BERRIES

All of CBS Farm’s berries grow on prime land within several miles of our cooling facilities, so just minutes after harvest the handpicked, field-packed fruit reaches our state-of-the-art coolers. Here, huge fans draw out the field heat quickly. The berries are then loaded onto refrigerated trucks, ready for immediate transport to our customers.

We pride ourselves on our rigid quality control process and food safety practices at all levels of our operation. We constantly make refinements and innovations to our processes, trying new varieties and techniques to improve our products.

CBS Farms offers a full array of packs and sizes in both conventional and organic fruit, as well as custom packs according to our customer’s needs.

We take pride in the extra lengths we take at every step to ensure the berries that leave our facility are at the optimum quality possible.

OUR BRANDS

BEACH STREET FARMS

The Beach Street label originated in 1996 as a premium Central Coast, California strawberry brand.  Today it remains widely recognized as a symbol of quality. We offer a wide range of pack sizes and styles.

COLLEEN

The Colleen label has become synonymous with excellence since its inception in 1976. Ed and Jean Kelly formed EKT Farms in that year to grow and market strawberries in their hometown of Watsonville, California. Over the years they have perfected their process and continue to provide a premium quality pack under the Colleen label.

SURFSIDE ORGANIC

The Surfside Organic label was introduced in 2011 in response to increased demand for organic products. Our organic growers grow using the highest cultural practices and are CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers) certified, which currently maintains the highest recognized standards for organic farming. Although organic farming has become more commonplace, it still remains a challenging process requiring a great deal of innovation and research.

FAQ

How can you help us save on freight costs?

Our footprint of 160 cartons vs. 108 will save you freight rates, especially on long hauls.

Do you export?

Yes, we currently supply berries to the Pacific Rim and Europe. Please inquire about your needs.

Why should I buy from CBS farms instead of a larger berry shipper?

We are small enough to change quickly to consumer and customer demands. And since we grow our own fruit there
is a reliability of product not always offered by larger shippers who contract with other growers to grow their fruit.

Do you offer contract pricing or custom packs?

Yes we will pack in your label and offer contract pricing. We want to work with you!

Do you use GMOs?

No we rely on traditional breeding methods used by University breeding programs that develop the most flavorful
and highest quality fruit in each of our growing districts.

Can we come tour your farms and facilities?

We would love you to visit our facility and farms for a tour with one of our grower-partners. Let us know when you’re coming to town!
